[Itinerary]
At 9 am, all Foodies will meet tour guides at the Three Kings Monument, located in the Old City. (Specific details on your exact meeting location will be provided with your booking confirmation.)
Destination #1: Try a simple yet must-eat staple dish of Thailand, Kao Man Gai and Pork Satay. The restaurant we will be dining at is a favorite amongst locals and visiting Thai, and has been family owned since 1957.
(Note: this tasting is only included in our morning tour, as they make a limited amount each day and sell out by the end of the afternoon.
Destination #2: Visit Wat Chiang Man, the first temple built in the old city (walk)
Destination #3: Try Chiang Mai’s famous version of Burma’s Kao Soi noodle dish. In addition to experiencing this meal and learning about it’s history and origins, you’ll get to meet the family that adapted this dish.
Destination #4: Visit the Wat Gate Community Museum.
Destination #5: Chiang Mai’s number one dessert destination for Sakoo Sai Hmoo and Kao Griap Paak Hmaw. (Note: this tasting is only included in our morning tour, as their two specialties sell out shortly after lunch time)
Destination #6: Cross over the Ping River walking bridge and conclude with a street food experience at Warorot Market, which has been around for over a century, and is one of Chiang Mai’s oldest, largest and most diverse open-markets. Inside the market, we’ll stop at several of our favorite stands and try local highlights like freshly made Golden Curl, mango sticky rice, Thai iced tea, Sai Oua, and more.
The tour will end around 1pm at Warorot Market.
